Southampton Repair Cafe is open on the first Saturday of every month (except January) at Freemantle URC church hall, 257 Shirley Rd SO15 3HS.

Our next cafe will be on Saturday 7th October 10.30-12.30 (note earlier closing time this month only). This is our 3rd Birthday! In these 3 years we have run 39 repair cafes and tackled over 700 items with a success rate of over 75%.

Future dates: Saturday 4 Nov, 2 Dec 2017 from 10.30-13.00

Repair cafe aims to keep everyday items away from landfill, save resources, give people the opportunity to learn new skills and build community. Our volunteer repairers will tackle small portable electrical items, portable wooden furniture, items needing glueing, jewellery, and bikes - along with sewing and mending, and advice on computer operation. All this plus a cuppa and a cake! Do come along with your items for repair, or if you are unsure what you need come along and ask. And if you can help in any way (repairers and general helpers always welcome!) please contact us. Or you can just come along for tea and cake (home made by volunteers at the church).

If you would like to offer your skills as a repairer or general helper please don't hesitate - the more the merrier, it will help us expand the repair cafe! It's a very sociable event, there's a great buzz and we even pay expenses and give you free refreshments. We don't just need help on the day - if you could take on a task such as publicity or social media we'd be very pleased to hear from you. Email repaircafe[at]transitionsouthampton.org
