Air pollution is acknowledged by the UK Government as the largest environmental risk to public health. 48,625 premature deaths are attributable to air pollution each year in the UK.
Last year staff at the Environment Centrer gave us an interesting talk on the topic of air quality. The talk explored the health, financial and environmental air pollution and covered actions we can take to reduce air pollution in general and keep ourselves safe from dirty air. We are hoping to make a recording of this talk available. In the mean time take a look at https://www.sotonairmap.com/ to see how to choose walking and cycling routes around the city that minimise exposure to air pollution
